Julie Melton
Educational background and experience:
I hold a BS degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and began my teaching experience in a public school in Kansas. Upon moving to Colorado, I taught for 3 years for Sheridan School District before starting our family. When our children became school-aged I homeschooled them for 4 years while working on a committee that would seek to open a new Christian school in the southwest part of Denver – FRCS! I began teaching at FRCS during its first year in 1994, taught for 4 years, then became an administrator, and have served here since.
Why do you teach?
I am involved in education because I feel called to it. I desire to make a difference in the lives of students and teachers.
Why do you teach at FRCS?
FRCS has become a huge part of my life and I love serving God here! It’s truly a very special place, and my family has appreciated all that it has meant to us over the years. Our children were among the first graduates of the school and I’m humbled by the opportunity to continue to serve here.
What is your passion in life?
I’m passionate about families and parenting (especially my own!) and about living life with a heart of gratitude and a biblical worldview.
What are your hobbies and other interests?
I love to travel and to experience new people and places. Practicing the art of hospitality is fun for me, and I love spending time with friends. I enjoy riding my bike, playing golf, and winning at party or board games! Music, photography and movies are also interests of mine.
