Belinda Porter

Educational background and experience:

I have two degrees, one from the University of Northern Colorado in Business Administration and one from Colorado Christian University in Liberal Arts in Elementary Education.  I am also half way through the adult Masters Program at Colorado Christian University.  I have been teaching for about 12 years with 10 years experience teaching 6th graders (hormones and all!).  I have taught every grade in Elementary except 5th grade.

Why do you teach?

I tell people that I train Warriors for Christ.  One of my favorite subjects is Bible.  Every year I ask the Lord to fill me up, because I am His willing and able vessel.  I am always amazed because my Bible class is never the same, and I get to learn and experience Him in a fresh and new way every year by watching my students take hold of who He is.  I love to learn from my students.  I try to give them every opportunity to experience the world around them, what God thinks, and how do you take Him with you through it all.  Every time my flesh gets a hold of me and lets me know that I can't do this forever, God teaches me something new and it is all up to Him of how long I get to be on this ride of my life!  It is truly a privilege and an honor to serve Him.

Why do you teach at FRCS?

I have a family here.  I love them, and they love me even with all of my weaknesses.  I love establishing life long friendships with some of my parents that I get the privilege to serve.  This is more than just a school.  It is a Christ centered, encouraging family.

What is your passion in life?

I love to praise and worship.  I get to use my God given talent to sing on the Praise and Worship Team at my church.  My passion also is arming my students to have, "God make them so dangerous that Satan can't touch them!"

What are your hobbies and other interests?

Singing, Dancing, Acting, Shopping, Playing Board/Card Games, being with family and friends, and just living life with the Joy of the Lord.
