Connie Rice

Educational background and experience: I graduated from Evergreen High School in 1996, but at the Lord's leading did not pursue college.  Pertaining to my dancing, I danced at Walt Disney World's Epcot and in Metz, France among other local shows.  After becoming frustrated with the difficulty of finding wholesome dance opportunities the Lord led me to create "my" own.  This led to the opening of Revive Christian Dance Studio in January 2005!

Why do you teach?  I teach because that is what the Lord has led me to do!  I don't mean for that to sound too simplistic, but it is true.  It seems that in most situations the Lord uses me in this capacity.  He's always nudging me to come alongside someone to teach, equip, guide and encourage.  At this point of my life He has led me to do that through teaching dance.  It has been a joy and privilege to teach my students not only dance, but also how to walk in their relationship with the Lord.  It's so fulfilling teaching students to love the Lord their God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength. . . even in their extracurricular activities such as dance.  It's fulfilling to teach them to look beyond themselves and see other people's needs, to teach them to pray for those that don't know Jesus as their Lord and to go out and share the Gospel through their love of dance.

Why do you teach at FRCS?
I teach at FRCS because I believe in what the school is doing.  I watch the students and talk with them and I imagine what it would have been like to grow up being taught at a Christian school.  It is invaluable.  I also believe that God delights in us working together as one body.  We accomplish so much more working together than we do apart.  The community aspect of FRCS is a beautiful thing!

What is your passion in life?
My passion in life is proclaiming that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, my God.  My passion in life is telling others about my God, that they may know Him too.  I desire to walk closely with Him, to go where He leads me to go and to do what He leads me to do.  It's okay with me that my life may not "fit the mold".  I grew up thinking I would graduate high school, go to college, become a teacher, get married, buy a house and have children.  That is not how my life has gone!  I have learned in the process that God forms and directs our lives.  They are not all the same and do not all look the same and that is okay!  He is my God and He directs my paths.  As long as I am walking with Him, it is well with my soul!  My life may look anyway that He chooses!

What are your hobbies and other interests? My husband and I love riding our mountain bikes.  We love trying out new trails all over the mountains and enjoyed riding Slick Rock in Moab a couple of years ago.  I also enjoy crafts, cooking and baking.  I LOVE my family and have so much fun playing with my nieces and nephews!
