Lea Stage

Educational background and experience:

I received my bachelors of science from Westmont College in 2001 and my masters in Chemistry in 2003. I also received my California teaching credential in Science and Chemistry in 2003. I have been teaching Chemistry for 6 years. I taught undergraduates at Westmont College, University of California, Irvine, Red Rocks Community College, Arapahoe Community College, and Community College of Denver. I have taught chemistry at FRCS for 3 years.

Why do you teach? It used to be because I love the subject. I never get tired of Chemistry and enjoy the whole learning process I get to see every year. However, since I became a Discipleship Group leader and began teaching a larger group of students, I teach because I love these students. I have developed some incredible relationships with these students and cherish the time I have with them.

Why do you teach at FRCS? I teach at FRCS because I love the quality of student, the ability to talk about my faith and how it related to science, and because the other employees are great friends.

What is your passion in life? My husband and my family. They are my first responsibility and my calling is to serve them and love them as best as I can.

What are your hobbies and other interests? I like to quilt, ride bikes, hike, play board games, play pretty much any out door sport, and most recently hunting :)
