Why do you teach?  There are several of reasons why I teach.  First, I didn't think I was smart enough to go into engineering, medical, and other such fields.  Although after serving in the navy and seeing what kinds of jobs my shipmates got when they got out made me rethink that.  Secondly, I knew the Lord had SOMETHING for me that would involve children.  My goal was to do Christian camping for deaf children, but the Lord dramatically changed that to becoming a teacher.  Thirdly, I was a very poor student with a very low self-esteem because I have learning disabilities.  The Lord gave me a passion to help struggling students know that "THEY ARE MORE THAN THEY KNOW" and that they, too, can do it and be a successful professional by the grace of God.

Why do you teach at FRCS? - I was originally brought onboard to be involved with the special needs department, but the Lord had other plans for me as a regular classroom teacher.

What is your passion in life?  "Being" for the Lord wherever I am.  I have a heart for students that struggle to learn, those who struggle, the outcasts, those who are down-and-out, and I love to treasure hunt for things that are in the "invisible"...those things that many or most don't see.

What are your hobbies and other interests?  Newest hobby/addiction is geocaching.  I love computer games...thus the grade six Civilization Club...smiles.  In the outdoor arena I love rock climbing, canoeing, backpacking, scuba diving (100 dives logged).  For inside fun I enjoy writing poetry, when it's inspired, cross-stitch, and reading.
